Statement of Main Terms of Employment

This statement sets out the main terms of employment between [Company name] ("the Employer") and [Employee name] ("the Employee").

1. Start date. Your employment began / will begin on [start date]. [Your period of continuous employment began on the same date.]

2. Job title and duties. You are employed as [job title], reporting to [manager]. A summary of your duties is [brief description].

3. Place of work. Your normal place of work is [location / hybrid arrangement].

4. Pay. Your salary is [£ amount] per year, paid [monthly] in arrears by bank transfer.

5. Hours of work. Your normal hours are [e.g. 37.5] per week, [days/pattern].

6. Holiday. Your holiday entitlement is [e.g. 28] days per year including bank holidays, running from [holiday year].

7. Sickness. Sick pay is paid in line with [SSP / company sick pay policy].

8. Pension. You will be enrolled in the Employer's pension scheme in line with auto-enrolment rules.

9. Notice. Notice required from each party is [notice period], subject to statutory minimums.

10. Probation. The first [e.g. 3 months] is a probationary period.

11. Disciplinary and grievance. The Employer's disciplinary and grievance procedures are set out in [handbook reference] and follow the ACAS Code of Practice.
